Background

I’m originally from the Bay Area, California. I grew up skiing, hiking, camping, surfing with my family - all things I love doing at UCSB. Outside of school, you can find me exploring the food scene in Santa Barbara, cooking for friends and traveling.

Research

Functional ceramic materials are used in robotics, energy conversion, and magnetics. The end-use properties of functional ceramics are dependent on their density, with processing of high-density, millimeter-scale ceramics with complex geometries being particularly difficult. To address this challenge, I’m looking into a process called nanoparticle material jetting to deposit functional ceramics. Currently, my current research focuses on developing and analyzing ceramic inks for nanoparticle jetting, with the ultimate goal of creating the densest possible ink to 3D print ceramic structures.
